OBD II EXHAUST
Many of today's newer cars and trucks have multiple oxygen sensors (two on single catalytic converter systems and four on dual converter systems), and these sensors play a vital role in the flow of fuel into the engine.  If you have a 1996 or newer vehicle you probably have OBD II.

If you have a high performance exhaust system installed on your car or truck and you are having the pipe size increased make sure that you do it behind the second O2 sensor.  If you have the pipe size increased in front of the second O2 sensor it could cause the system to get a false reading.  That could actually decrease performance and gas mileage.

Remember-the O2 sensors are designed for a certain pipe size, because the O2 sensors analyze the system so many times, and so well, the pipe size needs to be the same on the first O2 sensor as it is on the second O2 sensor.
